MY LIFE STORY & PHILOSOPHY: A Paradigm Shift
Why Paradigm Shift Wellness?
Since childhood, I have dealt with many chronic illnesses. I received more and more diagnoses throughout my life and did not see significant improvement in my health with the interventions I was told to try.

I kept asking myself- Why am I not getting better when I'm working so hard at it?

As I entered my career as a clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist, I worked overtime and depleted myself. I somehow made it through my training with chronic migraines, arthritis, GI issues, etc. In a nutshell- inflammation, fatigue, and pain. After a while this takes its toll and I was worn out, stressed out, and burned out.
After the birth of my first child, my issues got more severe and got to the point that I contemplated going on disability at the recommendation of my doctor. I stopped working for a period of time and found my first functional medicine practitioner, which was life changing. She was able to identify many physiological issues and change started to happen. In the meantime, I was also working with a nutritionist who introduced me to the work of the Weston A. Price Foundation. Given all of the food allergies and sensitivities in the family, she helped us focus on eating nutrient dense, non-GMO, organic food, and helped me learn new cooking techniques. Thankfully, I had grown up learning how to cook and bake, so I at least had some culinary skills.
I started reading about individuals who had healed themselves. I became fascinated with health and wellness and doctors' stories about how they had their own “awakenings” where they realized that their training did not provide them with all the tools they needed to heal. Thus, the paradigm shift in my own thinking. I started to explore modalities outside our traditional Western medical system where I received help, support, guidance, and hope.
My life has been a story about how to do things in a different way and to think “out of the box.”
I have had to do this to be able to work part-time and handle all the demands of my family and our medical struggles. Additionally, my children have needed different types of education environments and I have also homeschooled at various points in time.
The icing on the cake was within the last few years when Lyme/Co-infections and Mold entered my work and home life. In my work as a clinical neuropsychologist, I assess children for learning differences, anxiety, autism spectrum, post-concussive syndrome, and other challenges. I have found that over the years, these children (and their families) have underlying health struggles if you just start asking the right questions and dig deeper. I started a more holistic intake process at work and realized that these families needed help too. Just sharing my experience and resources could be helpful for these families to change their lives for the better, and that is what I have been doing over the past few years.
During the COVID lockdown, I discovered energy work and graduated from the Intuitive Way where I have learned how to work with energy for personal growth and to facilitate my own healing process. My goal is to incorporate these practices into my work with clients who are interested.
Currently, my family and I continue our health journeys with more concrete information about what to do and how to do it thanks to FDN. My goals are to help you find your path, feel confident in your health choices through lots of education and support, and live the best life that you can. What are your goals?
